Iniutos ni Presiding Officer ng Senate Impeachment Court Senate President Francis “Chiz” Escudero ang pagpapalabas ng panibagong subpoena para sa susunod na testigo ng House prosecution panel kaugnay ng umano’y maling paggamit ng P612.5 milyong confidential funds ni Vice President Sara Duterte.
Sa ika-12 araw ng impeachment trial, sinabi ni Escudero na ang naunang subpoena para kay Commission on Audit–Intelligence and Confidential Funds Audit Office State Auditor Xylene Del Campo ay may bisa lamang mula Agosto 3 hanggang 4, 2026.
Dahil dito, inatasan niya ang Senate Clerk of Court at ang Sergeant-at-Arms na magsilbi ng panibagong subpoena na magiging epektibo mula Agosto 5 hanggang 11, 2026 upang matiyak ang pagdalo ni Del Campo sa impeachment court.
Inaasahang haharap si Del Campo bilang testigo matapos pormal na ma-dismiss sa kaso si dating COA–Intelligence and Confidential Funds Audit Office State Auditor Roderick Wamil, na posibleng mangyari sa Miyerkules, Agosto 5.
Samantala, sinabi ni Escudero na nakadepende pa sa magiging desisyon ng impeachment court ang subpoena para kay House of Representatives Legislative Information Resources Management Department Director Marivic Pareja.
Kaugnay ito ng unang artikulo ng impeachment complaint laban kay Duterte, na nag-uugnay sa kanya sa umano’y culpable violation of the Constitution, graft and corruption, at betrayal of public trust dahil sa alegadong maling paggamit ng P612.5 milyong confidential funds na inilaan sa Office of the Vice President at Department of Education.
