Binatikos ni Vice President Sara Duterte ang bagong impeachment complaint na inendorso ng Akbayan Party-list laban sa kanya sa pagsasabing walang kalakip na ebidensya na susuporta sa mga akusasyon.
Sa isang video message sa Facebook, partikular na tinukoy ni Duterte na ang panibagong impeachment complaint bilang “baseless” at “abuse of process”.
Iginiit ni Duterte na paulit-ulit na ibinabandera ang isyung “Mary Grace Piattos” kahit wala umanong maipakitang direktang paglabag sa confidential funds.
Ang reaksyon ay inilabas ni Duterte isang araw matapos ipadala ni House Secretary General Cheloy Velicaria-Garafil ang dalawang reklamo ng impeachment laban kay Duterte sa tanggapan ni Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III.
Ang unang verified impeachment complaint ay inihain ng Makabayan Coalition at inendorso nina ACT Teachers party-list Representative Antonio Tinio, Gabriela Women’s Party Representative Sarah Jane Elago, at Kabataan Party-list Representative Renee Louise Co.
Kabilang din sa complainants ang mga kasalukuyan at dating progresibong mambabatas at lider kabilang sina France Castro, Arlene Brosas, Liza Maza, Neri Colmenares, Renato Reyes Jr., Raymond Palatino, at iba pa.
Ang ikalawang reklamo ay inendorso ng Mamamayang Liberal Party-list Representative Leila de Lima at Akbayan Party-list Rep. Perci Cendana, na nagmula sa progresibong grupo at civil society groups kabilang sina Francis Joseph “Kiko” Aquino Dee, Sylvia Estrada Claudio, Teresita Quintos Deles, former Ifugao representative Teodoro Baguilat Jr., at labor leader Josua Mata, at iba pa.
